I have the idea that the right person with the right saw and the right saw blade (that I would buy) could chain saw my empty diesel tank in half. Is this a reasonable idea to have? I would then use the 2 halves for burn barrels and then eventually as the metal degraded I would have metal to return to the earth via my back yard while the more intact pieces of the metal could go to Scrap Metal Recycling someday. Please call if interested in the task. Also, please call if you think this is a terrible idea. Thanks!
This is indeed a very BAD idea in that even the smallest amount of diesel in a tank being cut in half (heat) would cause the tank to explode if the inside atmosphere of the tank were not prepared properly/neutralized ahead of time. Hallelujah for the call from a local guy who knows his stuff and who’s sent me to another local guy who would know all about how this could be accomplished and maybe even take on the job or may know someone who could and would.
PLEASE DO NOT TRY MY IDEA AT ALL EVER ANYWHERE. I’m leaving it here to keep the story intact.
